Based in Cologne, Sommertheater Pusteblume e.V. has worked in musical and cultural education and communication for people with and without a disability for more than two decades.
The two-year inclusive performing arts project Un-Label has partners in Greece, England, Turkey and Germany. Under the project, around 100 professional artists with and without a disability from all over Europe come together to work on innovative and inclusive performing arts formats, developing existing skills and acquiring new ones together. The participants in all the project modules are experts in managing their own lives. The aim of Un-Label is to lower all kinds of barriers to enable people with a disability to participate equitably in cultural life. Cultural diversity in the performing arts is considered a vital factor when it comes to building a cohesive society in Europe. The project supports participants with and without a disability in developing their artistic skills further, promotes their cross-border mobility and helps them to work internationally. It also creates access to professional employment practices and raises public awareness of the fundamental importance of being different. Un-Label builds a European network that enables artists to try out and establish innovative approaches to the performing arts.
